Set The Leave Year
In LeaveWizard, you can set the leave year to any date you want. It does not have to be the same as the calendar year running from 1st January to 31st December, although this is the initial setting. As an administrator, you can change the company leave year, which will be the default leave year for all users unless specifically overridden.
Set The Company Leave Year
You can do this on the ‘Company Details‘ page. Select ‘Company Settings’ from ‘Configuration’ on the main menu and navigate to the ‘Leave Year and Types’ section. Enter the day and month into the ‘Our company leave year starts on’ field. You can enter it directly into the DD/MM box or click the calendar icon to open a calendar pop-up to enter the date.
Set A User Leave Year
If the default leave year needs to be overridden for a specific user, then you can do this on their ‘Employee Details‘ page. From the ‘Dashboard’, start typing the name of the user into the ‘Search employee’ box on the sub-menu and then select the user from the dropdown. On their ‘Employee Details’ page, select the ‘Allowances & Work Pattern’ tab. In the Allowances section, click on the displayed date (MM-DD) of the Allowance Resets On field. Then enter the required start day and month into the pop-up calendar.
Please note that the system ignores the selected year on the calendar. It only uses the day and month to define the leave year start. It displays the default company leave year below the field entry box. In this example, the company leave year is 1st January (01/01). But for this user, an administrator has overridden the date to be 1st April (04/01).
Leave Year On The Dashboard
In the ‘My Allowance’ section of the Employee ‘Dashboard’, the data shown is for their leave year. So, in this example, the user will see ‘Allowance and leave from 01.04.2022 to 31.03.2023’ displayed in that section. This lets them know that their leave year runs from 1st April.
