Login And Passwords For Managers

LeaveWizard uses secure encrypted passwords. Therefore, unless the account holder gives another person their password or access to their email account, it is not possible for anybody, including company administrators or LeaveWizard staff, to access the account.

To provide support, LeaveWizard has a test system which has a ‘snapshot’ of your company data. This comes from the live system, which is read only for us. So we cannot change your live system or log into it.

You need to create a password to use LeaveWizard, and if you have forgotten your password, you will need to reset it. If you want to change your password, you can do that from within the web app.

Your LeaveWizard password needs to be at least 7 characters. Although we don’t impose any other restrictions, we advise you to use upper case, lower case, numbers and symbols for added security.

Creating A Password

When an administrator in your company adds you to their LeaveWizard company account, you will not have a password. But, they can optionally create a ‘Welcome’ email, either during your user account creation or at any other time, which has a link to set up a password.

Alternatively, if you know your username, you can use the ‘Forgot Password’ link on the Login page of the LeaveWizard web app to change or, in this case, create a password.

Resetting Your Password

If you cannot login because you have forgotten your password, then you need to reset the password. Please do this by clicking this Reset Password link or by clicking the ‘Forgot Password?’ link on the login page. You should then receive an email with a reset password link and instructions. If you do not receive the email, please contact a LeaveWizard administrator in your company or LeaveWizard support at [email protected].

Clicking the link will take you to the forgotten your password page. Enter your username and then click the submit button.

The system will check your username, and if it finds it, email you an authentication link to your registered email address. If you click the link, it will take you to the change password page where you can enter your new password.

Changing Your Password

You can change your password from the ‘My Settings‘ page, which is a menu option on the user menu. You can access it via the ‘Head’ icon on the far right-hand side of the main menu.

Locked Out

If an administrator deactivates your account, which usually only happens when you leave your employment, the system will lock you out. You then cannot login, even if your password and username are correct.

Also, after five incorrect password attempts, the system will lock you out temporarily for five minutes. Please wait and try again later.

If your account appears ‘locked out’ permanently, please contact your LeaveWizard administrator, who can unlock user accounts.

SSO (Single Sign On)

LeaveWizard normally uses a username and password pair for user identity authentication. However, we also provide for authentication by an identity provider (IdP). If your company uses an IdP to provide SSO (Single Sign On) and has set it up on LeaveWizard, you can log in using the same credentials you used to log into other services.

Go to the login page of the LeaveWizard web app but rather than enter your username and password, click the ‘Sign in with Single Sign On’ link below the ‘LOGIN’ button.

Enter your SSO credentials (email) and click the ‘Continue’ button.

If the email is valid and exists, the IdP will validate your identity and redirect you to the LeaveWizard dashboard. However, if it cannot find the email, it will display the message, ‘Your email is not associated with the SSO Account’. Use the ‘Sign in without SSO’ link if you want to sign in using your LeaveWizard username and password instead of SSO.

Alternatively, you can log into the LeaveWizard website from your identity provider account. For example, from Okta, click the LeaveWizard app link on your My Apps page. If you have already linked your accounts (see below) it will log you into LeaveWizard. If not, it will display the message, ‘Your email is not associated with the SSO Account’.

Linking Your LeaveWizard And Identity Provider Accounts

Before you can access LeaveWizard using SSO, you need to link your LeaveWizard account with your identity provider account. To do this, go to your ‘My Settings‘ page from the user menu. You can access that menu via the ‘Head’ icon on the far right-hand side of the main menu. Click the ‘Connect’ button to link the accounts.

When you have linked the accounts, the button changes to ‘Log Out’ to allow you to un-link the accounts.

If you have not linked your accounts, but have already logged into LeaveWizard and into your IdP, you can also link the accounts from your IdP. For example, from Okta, click the LeaveWizard app link on your My Apps page and you will get a message asking if you want to link the accounts. If you click ‘Continue’, it will link them.
