How Do I Create A Family Leave Type?
LeaveWizard allows for many event types. You can create family leave, also known as parental leave, or separate maternity and paternity leave, if your company needs them.
Create Maternity And Paternity Leave Types
You can create new event types on the Event Types and Allowances page by clicking the ‘New’ button on the submenu.
Then you can set them up as you require by making settings on the Event Type Details page. Normally, these events would be leave types, with an allowance that requires approval. So, you would select ‘Allowanced Leave Requires Approval’ for ‘Type of event’.
Restricting Family Leave To A Group Of Users
All users can request new event types you create. So you now need to restrict which users can request the event to those for whom it applies. You can achieve this by creating an Event Type Request Restrictions User Group for the event.
When you create the group, in this example ‘Maternity Leave’, only the users you have defined can request the event type.
If you have also created a Paternity leave type, restrict which users can request that, in the same way. Once you have completed that, you will have new family leave types which your selected users can request.
